On 18 November 2025, the MIWE live baking center provided the perfect setting for one of the baking trade’s most prestigious awards: the Allgemeine BäckerZeitung (ABZ) ceremony honouring the Baker and Trainer of the Year. Over 100 invited guests from the baking trade, industry associations and the media experienced an evening shaped by fresh momentum, passion and a shared sense of intergenerational responsibility.
With Elisabeth Vielhaber from Mühlenbäckerei Vielhaber (Sundern-Stockum) and Landbäckerei Stinges (Brüggen), ABZ honoured two businesses that not only preserve traditional craftsmanship but boldly carry it forward - each embracing an active generational transition.
The event, held in the artisan-inspired setting of the MIWE live baking center, created a special atmosphere while also highlighting the key role modern technology plays in the ongoing evolution of the baking trade. If we want to inspire young people to take up the baking trade, it takes more than passion and strong values - the right environment is just as important, both during training and in day-to-day working life.
As hosts, we’re delighted that the MIWE LBC was once again able to serve as a place for professional exchange and recognition of the baking trade.
