A day to remember – when the employer thinks of the whole family
A day to remember – when the employer thinks of the whole family

A personal account from an MIWE employee For many working parents in Bavaria, the Day of Repentance and Prayer in November is an organizational challenge every year. It's not a public holiday, but schools are closed.

A day to remember – when the employer thinks of the whole family

A report from a mom's perspective

As a working mom, I know how challenging the school-free Day of Repentance and Prayer can be every November. Many people probably ask themselves, "A school-free day in the middle of the week? Is that really necessary?" For us parents, this often means a balancing act in terms of organization.

So I am all the more grateful that MIWE has once again come up with a solution this year: lovingly organized childcare right on site in Arnstein. For me, this is a real added value – and, to be honest, something that not every employer offers.

On November 19, my 8-year-old son got to experience a colorful day together with 53 other employees' children. He was already excited in the morning – and came home in the evening with his eyes shining. His conclusion:
"Mom, that was really cool! Especially baking cookies and pizza in the huge bakery – can we sign up again for next year?"

A strong team – from start to finish

The organization was entirely in the hands of our second- and third-year commercial trainees. And what can I say: they did a great job! With a lot of commitment, creativity, and a sense of responsibility, they put together a varied program:

  • Baking in the MIWE live baking center

Together with our master bakers Charlotte Endres and Marcel Brünner, the children were able to decorate cookies and top mini pizzas in a festive atmosphere.

  • Creative stations in the MAZ and meeting room

Whether it was painted cloth bags, curved MIWE elephants, or self-designed snowmen and reindeer, the children were able to let off steam to their hearts' content.

  • Walk in the forest

Exercise, fresh air, and experiencing nature were also part of the program.

  • Lunch in the cafeteria

Together with the supervisors, there was a little refreshment before continuing.

  • Insights into everyday working life

Finally, the children were given the opportunity to see their parents' workplaces – a real highlight for many of them.

Career and family – no contradiction at MIWE

For my son, it was an adventure. For me as a mother, it was a powerful message. MIWE thinks ahead – and shows that balancing career and family is not only possible, but also a reality.

This offer goes far beyond the usual – and makes it clear to me why MIWE is a special employer.
